Parent contributes generously to transform the LRC

A year 7 parent has generously donated funds to the school’s new Learning Resource Centre. Ms Vikki Gilzean, manager of the LRC enthused, “We are delighted with this unexpected and generous gift. It means that we are able to buy very high quality books that the boys requested, that we thought we would never be able to afford.”

Titles added to the collection so far, include Falconry - Celebrating a Living Heritage, a breathtaking visual history of falconry around the world. Lyrics of the Sands in both Arabic and English, rejoicing in the culture and history of Arabia. And, the Complete Book of Formula One and the new Marvel Encyclopedia - already very popular with students.

It also means that a new zone has been created, to the delight of students. A new ‘Graphic Novel’ section has begun and already it is proving very popular with students, especially those that find a traditional novel very daunting to read.

And don’t forget boys, if you have any ideas about what new books and resources you want to see in your LRC, use the suggestion box, just inside the main library doors.
