Wael Al Sayegh to launch this year's D.E.A.R.

D.E.A.R. is just one event in this year's calendar at Rashid School that aims to further encourage and motivate students to enjoy reading.

On Monday 16 November ex student Wael Al Sayegh, poet, author and cultural commentator will launch RSB's second annual Drop Everything And Read celebration. Wael will join all students from years 7,8, 9, 10, tutors and Mr Kilsby, to launch the day, talking about the importance of reading in the development of the students' thinking, learning and creative skills.

Following assembly, Wael will then open officially the newly transformed Learning Resource Centre, with over 1,000 new book titles for the students to enjoy.

Throughout the day every class will focus on reading and BookWorld by Kinokuniya (their first Middle East store recently opened in Dubai Mall) will give students the opportunity to select a further 1,000 titles for the LRC collection.
