Students raise 180,000Dhs to help children in Kenya

So far the amount raised is just over 180,000 dhs

This month, the boys at Rashid School worked together to raise money for charity by organising and taking part in a variety of events.

Activities were arranged by each form group and carried out during break and lunch times. Students enjoyed giving money to sponge their teachers, buying juices and snacks, playing soap football and challenging their teachers to a game of football, basketball and softball. One of the most successful events was the auction where students were able to buy get-out-of-homework certificates. This raised over 70,000 dhs.

All of the money raised will be going to two charities. One of the charities to benefit from our students generosity is ‘Moving Mountains’ which helps to shelter, feed, and educate street children in Kenya. Several Year 12 and 13 students will be climbing Mount Kenya and visiting the Charity next month. The rest of the money will be used to help fund the building of a mosque in Indonesia.

So far the amount raised by the Charity Week is just over 180,000 dhs.
