Year 5G Zabeel Park Trip

Yesterday we went on a trip to Zabeel Park. Miss Kirsty came with us.It was exciting. We were asked to walk around the outside of the park which was 2km before we got our snack! But we did have water. The ice box was hoisted off of the bus and in to the park. After we finished eating, we played for 5minutes in the playground and on the climbing frames. It was awesome. Suddenly Miss Gillian called ' stop' and asked us to write a play script with our group. We had been reading scripts in our English lessons. We worked in groups of five and some of our scripts were very funny. When we finished, we got on the bus and came back to school. I had a good time with my friends and Essa was hilarious.

Y5G Trip to Al Noor Special School

Our weekly trip in 5G this week was to Al Noor Special School. We had been studying different groups within society in our PSHE lessons and this trip was an excellent way to go and meet others within our local community. The children that we met there were amazing and able to do so many wonderful things. We visited many classrooms around the school and saw screen printing, stitching, carpentry and cookery classes which the children seemed to really enjoy. At the end of our trip we visited their shop; Smiles n Stuff, everything that they sold was made in school by the children. We discovered that the children there really are very special.

Y5G Trip to Rashidiya Metro Station

Our trip this week in 5G was to the Dubai Metro station in Rashidiya as part of our mini transport topic. We were responsible for independently purchasing our own return ticket to Airport Terminal 1 and this allowed us also to take responsibility for the money and our ticket. We learned about reading and following signs in the metro station, what rules apply on the metro and what fines will be imposed for breaking any rules. We also spoke with a female working at Rashidiya Station and she allowed some of us to travel in Gold Class! We had a great trip and are looking forward to our next one on Tuesday.

Green Bands in Key Stage 2

Last week in Key Stage 2 we presented our first Green Bands of this academic year.  Although only a small number of boys were presented, the number is already increasing.  Students wearing Green Bands in Primary have a good level of independence and demonstrate this by moving around the school quietly and sensibly without supervision.
