Year 3 Camp
Outdoor Adventure Education is an important part of the curriculum and the Year 3 camp is an excellent introduction to this.
The camp is set in the secondary school grounds to give the boys, and parents, added security in a familiar setting. The boys start with a small trek to the campsite giving them responsibility for their own luggage. Once there, boys erect tents and organise their personal belongings followed by camp games, revolving around team work, trust, cooperation and opportunities for leadership and decision making.
The highlight of the camp is the camp fire and 'Desert Drumming'.
The boys then sleep and return home the next morning.
Year 4-6 Dibba
To develop the Outdoor Adventure Education Rashid School uses North Star, a company based on the beautiful East coast of the United Arab Emirates. Dibba boasts an ideal coastline where the boys can experience rafting, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, watching turtles and Dhow trips. North Star offers an excellent secure experience, with on site activities such as climbing, abseiling, high rope course, team building exercises, swimming and archery. They also organise many off site activities, mountain biking, trekking, basic survival skills, nature and environmental studies and star gazing. Rashid school boys, stay overnight for two nights and each year groups activities are different to the next. It is an outstanding experience that will be remembered by the boys for a long time.
Ski Trip
Every year boys from Rashid School are invited to take part in the ski trip to Verbier, Switzerland. Verbier offers 450km of slopes for every ability within a idyllic setting of Swiss chalets. Skiing is an exhilarating experience which gives life long skills and experiences.
Les Elfes provides a unique organisation, offering the entire experience under one roof. Les Elfes, operate from two chalets, one male and the other for females. Rashid school get given an entire floor and everything from ski instruction to evening entertainment is offered by the Les Elfes team. This is an amazing experience and many boys make multiple trips. Trips generally run during the first weeks of February guaranteeing snow and excellent ski conditions. The boys from Rashid school, will stay for seven nights, skiing all day and have a choice of fun entertainment throughout the evening. Student to instructor ratios are no more than 1:8 and Rashid School staff ski regularly with the groups.
