Welcome to Year 2

In Year 2 the boys are supported in class by their class teacher and class teaching assistant. Throughout the year they will be given more responsibility and will be expected to work more independently.

Boys should remember their homework folders, diaries, spelling books and reading books daily.

Please help your son to prepare for his day at school. Kindly take note of days when he has specialist lessons.

Differentiated homework is set to help reinforce and practice work done in class. Boys should be encouraged to complete homework independently but may  occasionally require adult support. This could be to read directions or provide encouragement. Boys are expected to read with an adult every night for 10-15 minutes.

Class teachers and parents can communicate through the Homework Diary. Please take time to look at your son's diary every day.

Please write a note in the diary or call the school should someone new be picking your child up from school.

Information will be sent home throughout the year regarding after school activities. These include Karate, Swimming, Football, Rugby, and Basketball. Please keep a record of days and dates at home for your information.
