Shakespeare Festival

This year’s Shakespeare festival, which took place on Monday 4th April, was a resounding success.

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 performed a variety of extracts from their set texts. Highlights included Mrs Dowswell’s coven of ‘Macbeth’witches who chanted superbly, Mohammed Al Hareb’s sharp dance moves and Hazza Manana, who may well have won the ‘Witch of the Day’ prize for his chillingly twisted “weird sister.” Miss Brooke’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ was a definite hit with the audience with special mention for Khalid Amimi’s improvised comedy lines.

Earlier in the day the students competed against each other in their teams in a variety of activities. These included: internet-based language games and research in the LRC; making Elizabethan ruffs and theatres; and various fun, text-based activities.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
