Yr 11 & 12 Students Compete in 'Debate Dubai 2011'

debate2RSB debate teams got through to the third round of the annual schools' Debate Dubai. Rashid School sent two teams to the competition. Team A was Abdulla Khoory, Sowaidan Al Qamzi and Ahmad Al Tunaiji and Team B included Hamad Baker, Sheehab Zayed and Mansoor Al Harbi and they were supported by Mansoor Al Ali.

Over 300 students, from 24 different nations took part in the competition and it was the first year that RSB had entered teams. The debates covered a range of interesting topics from art and history to science and technology.

We were disappointed not to get through to the finals, but found it a really valuable experience. We got a chance to practice our debate skills, as well as how to research, structure and present our opinions persuasively. What's more it was excellent practice for the MUN Conference taking place later this year.
