Senior Boys V Staff: 3-0 Glory After 5 Years!
Rashid School seniors managed to defeat the staff 3-0 after 5 years of suffering. Both teams started well and the seniors kept possession and played some accurate passes however, the staff managed to keep their defence in shape and did not allow the attackers to get in the box.
Half way through the first half, a classic goal was scored by Mohammed Singel from outside of the box. After the first goal the possession was with the staff who tried to score the equalizer before the end of the first half but, unfortunately, they failed and the first half was ended.
In the second half, the game was more even. The staff kept hold of the ball and created some good opportunities but again failed to score! Towards the end the seniors appeared to be playing it safe and the staff were still unable to equalise. The final minutes brought more excitement. The seniors played fast and accurate passes, resulting in 2 amazing goals being scored, both by Mohammed Al Hai. Just before the final whistle Mr. Boyle got injured which ended the match leaving the seniors victorious. It was the first victory to the students in 5 years.
It was difficult to choose the man of the match however most of the spectators agreed Mr Munir played a fantastic game in goal with some great saves and deserved the award.
