Details
Published on Wednesday, 16 November 2011 13:12

Our trip this week in 5G was to the Dubai Metro station in Rashidiya as part of our mini transport topic. We were responsible for independently purchasing our own return ticket to Airport Terminal 1 and this allowed us also to take responsibility for the money and our ticket. We learned about reading and following signs in the metro station, what rules apply on the metro and what fines will be imposed for breaking any rules. We also spoke with a female working at Rashidiya Station and she allowed some of us to travel in Gold Class! We had a great trip and are looking forward to our next one on Tuesday.

Shakespeare Festival

This year’s Shakespeare festival, which took place on Monday 4th April, was a resounding success.

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 performed a variety of extracts from their set texts. Highlights included Mrs Dowswell’s coven of ‘Macbeth’witches who chanted superbly, Mohammed Al Hareb’s sharp dance moves and Hazza Manana, who may well have won the ‘Witch of the Day’ prize for his chillingly twisted “weird sister.” Miss Brooke’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ was a definite hit with the audience with special mention for Khalid Amimi’s improvised comedy lines.
